How can I reduce my treatment times when I have a lot of visits (more than 500)?
When you are trying to optimize route plans that have more than 500 visits, or when you're importing customer files from several hundred thousand customers. File import and map navigation can be a little slower. Here are some tips to overcome the problem.
Data import
When you import files of more than 5 MB for example, depending on your internet speed, the import time may be more longer. There are some tips to reduce this time:
Reduce the size of the file: to do this, you can remove descriptive columns from your file that are not directly useful for your optimization. You can also remove unnecessary sheets in your Excel workbook. Finally it is possible to divide your file into several entities.
Import the file via Google or Office 365: going through your files in the cloud saves you the time of uploading from your computer to TourSolver. The communication is done from Google or Microsoft servers to TourSolver servers and the internet speed is generally better in this case. This can reduce the import time by 30%. Good to know!
Map navigation
Are you trying to display a hundred tours at the same time containing more than 1000 visits for example? Navigation in the map can be a little slower. Here are some tips to overcome this problem:
Reduce the number of routes to display in the map: the fewer routes in the map the better your navigation performance will be! To do this, click on the visibility icon located in the header of the routes table (in list or gantt view), this will hide all the routes, then make visible the routes you are interested in.
The operation is also possible via the "object visibility" button on the map. You can hide all tours.
Enable cluster mode: the "cluster" mode allows to group visits close to each other to avoid overlapping. This makes the route plan more readable! The operation is also possible via the "object visibility" button on the map. You will have to click on the button "display clusters".
